Phantom Smoky Quartz crown showing layers of secondary growth with one layer displaying Spherical Black Pyrolusite (Manganese Oxide).
What appears to be damage is where crystals oposite in the pocket rested. The areas actually show shiny faces on them.
Sample is from the King’s Cross mine, Cloncurry, Queensland, Australia.
